CATEG SYSTEMS LTD has been established in Nigeria since 1995, and the Company has gained significant project experience in several Nigerian locations. The following are some of the projects executed by the Company.
Upgrading of production Measuring Devices – Oil Flow Meters
Work Period: 1996 - 1998 Client: Nigeria Agip Oil Company
Work Description:
• Categ participated in the upgrade of all the metering/monitoring system to a high reliability level.
• Redesign engineering of production measuring devices, supply and installation of floco meters as substitute for target meters for eleven (11) flow stations.
• Supply of spare parts and quarterly preventive maintenance of the floco meters.
• Calibration of the meters
• Certification of other skid instrumentations
Upgrading of Metering Skids Work Period: 1996 – 1997
Client: Nigeria Agip Oil Company
Work Objective:
The work involved complete upgrade of all the devices installed at the meter banks of 4-flow stations (Tebidaba, Obama, Clough Creek & Beniboye) to an acceptable standard. This is to enable the achievement of an accurate reconciliation between the flow stations and the Brass Terminal.
Description: Design Services for up-grading 4 Flowstations in AGIP’s area of Operations
Scope of Work:
Design Contractor, responsible for:-
* Site - specific design.
* Up-grading of Metering Skids and associated pipework.
* Preparation and issue of as-built drawings.
Supply and Installation of Smith’s Y strainers on Test Separators in Land & Swamp Locations
Work Period: 2000 Client: Nigeria Agip Oil Company
Work Description:
• Modification of existing piping system to suite the new Y strainers.
• Supply and installation of Y strainers on Test Separators.
• Prepare and Issue as built Drawing
Statutory Certification/calibration of Metering Systems
Work Period: 2000 – 2001 Client: Nigeria Agip Oil Company
Work Description:
• Maintenance and certification/calibration of meters
• Certification/testing of PSVs
• Certification/calibration of metering system instrumentations
• Meter linearity checks
• Prepare and issue skid performance
Design & Modifications of Ammonia Cooling water flow indicator system.
Work Period: 1996 Client: NAFCON, Port Harcourt.
Description: Design Services for installation and commissioning of flow indicator system.
Scope of Work:
Design Contractor, responsible for:-
* Design for structures and pipework.
* Supply of materials.
* Preparation and issue of as-built drawings.
Prover Loop Modifications and Calibration.
Client: Mobil, QIT. Period of Work: 1998
Description: Design modifications of the Prover Loop system and Calibration.
Scope of Work:
Design Contractor, responsible for:-
* Design modifications of the existing Prover Loop pipework.
* Supply of materials, Test equipment and Calibration.
* Preparation and issue of as-built drawings.
TESTING, SERVICING AND CERTIFICATION OF PRESSURE SAFETY VALVES AT OSO PLATFORM COMPLEX, USARI PLATFORM AND BRT
WORK PERIOD: 1999-2001 CLIENT: MOBIL PRODUCING NIGERIA ULTD
WORK DESCRIPTION:
• Carry out pre-pop test to evaluate the condition of the relief valves.
• Carry out repairs on faulty valves.
• Pressure test PSVs and seal
• Certification of valves
DETAILED DESIGN FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF 10” X 4.8 KM SOKU GAS PLANT TO SOKU FLOW STATION CONDENSATE EXPORT PIPELINE
WORK PERIOD: 2002
CLIENT: SHELL DEVELOPMENT COMPANY OF NIG. LTD
WORK DESCRIPTION:
• Carry out detailed field surveys and site investigations.
• Identify and record communities along the pipeline route and along access routes to the pipeline ROW.
• Carry out design calculations – hydraulic and wall thickness, pipeline profile, cathodic protection, etc.
• Specify and detail pig launching and receiving facilities for the pipeline and detail their orientation and connection to the existing production facilities.
• Specify and detail Switching Facilities required for the operational flexibility of the line.
• Develop and compile Design and Construction philosophies
• Organize and participate in multi-discipline technical, HSE, quality design reviews, and the execution of HAZOP reviews on the detailed design.
• Prepare for the pipeline corrosion management system for inclusion in the operations manual.
• Prepare for pre-commissioning, operating and maintenance manual.
• Prepare a detailed scope of work for inclusion in the construction tender package.
CATEG SYSTEMS LTD’s responsibility for the above listed projects included mobilisation of design teams, offices and computing facilities; establishment and operation of procedures, Quality and HSE Management plans, project control and reporting systems, project schedule and expenditure plan.

Quality Assurance Scheme
The common denominator in CATEG SYSTEMS LIMITED is management through Quality Assurance. This will always ensure the Company's fundamental commitment to quality. The comprehensive quality management system of our company has played a significant role in the success of the company.
The implementation of QA/QC plan for each project ensures conformance to project specifications. Categ operates under an advanced Quality assurance system certified to meet the requirement of ISO 9001.
These measures, in no small way had enabled Categ to meet with customers’ implied quality requirements.
Categ’s project management techniques, such as detailed planning and scheduling, are utilized continually during the execution of each contract to ensure it’s completion within the intended schedule.
We are currently involved in several strategic, quality circle and teaming efforts with our different clients
A categ manager is assigned to each quality committee within our client’s engineering organization. These teams exchange ideas that ultimately result in quality improvement standards and procedures. Also periodic meetings are held between the top management and clients in order to monitor quality progress and evaluate situations in relation to quality.
Categ’s requirements for Measuring Equipment are in compliance with the following International Standards:
ISO/IEC Guide 25-1990, General Requirement for the Calibration and Competence of Testing Laboratory.
ISO 100121-1992(E) Meteorological Confirmation System for Measuring Equipment.
The Calibrating Standards used to certify CATEG SYSTEMS LIMITED’s REFERENCE STANDARD CALIBRATORS are themselves fully traceable to the national and international standards.
